LIVERMORE FALLS – A Livermore Falls man is being held on $15,000 cash bail at an Auburn jail on charges of arson, domestic assault and terrorizing.

He allegedly assaulted his wife April 30, then poured gasoline on the floor of the residence and lit it.

Police had a warrant out for Charles Brewster, 45, who allegedly fled the 20 Dennison Way scene.

Brewster turned himself in to Winthrop police on Sunday, Livermore Falls Police Lt. Thomas E. Gould said.

Brewster is also on probation for a previous federal firearms violation, Gould said.

Gould said the fire was put out with a fire extinguisher before police arrived. There had been some burning, Gould said.

Police called in a tracking dog to help find Brewster, but they could not locate him at the time, Gould said.
