FARMINGTON – A Wilton man pleaded guilty to assault Friday in Franklin County Superior Court. He was released for time served.
Michael Champion, 30, allegedly forced a woman into her bedroom on Dec. 15, 2003, and forced her to have sex with him, according to police reports. Champion denied the charge, claiming the act was consensual.
Police arrested Champion two days after the incident.
He was initially held on $5,000 bail, later reduced to $750 in January. He posted bail in February and was released.
Champion was sentenced to 49 days, time he had served while awaiting trial.
