Mechanic Falls – Registered voters will be asked today to decide a $286,000 bond proposal for improving town roads.
A special town meeting on the bond issue will begin at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room of Elm Street School. The proposal calls for a 10-year bond at a total of $315,083, which includes the $286,000 in actual projects and $29,083 in interest.
The bond will fund the following roads and projects: Patterson, $55,500; Libby $60,000; Yates, $10,300; Cross, $8,500; Lower Perkins, $8,700; West Chestnut, $4,000; East Chestnut, $2,000; Maple, $14,000; Mitchell, $14,000; Summer, $8,500; Spring, $23,800; Public Works Department yard, $17,500; ice rink, $11,000; tennis court, $32,000; and storage bathroom, $16,000.
