LIVERMORE – Members of Charity Rebekah Lodge will meet Wednesday, June 23, at the group’s hall, the Ralph Wright Memorial Building on Federal Road.

Refreshments will be served before the meeting, at 12:30 p.m., and the meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Each member is asked to bring a sandwich. Norma Lucarelli and Marge Pritsky will serve on the dessert committee. There will be a sunshade parade.

Music class offered

FARMINGTON – A free demonstration class for Music Together, a music and movement program for children from birth through age 4, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 24, in Michael Cook’s Karate Studio on Broadway.

Readings offered

WILTON – The Wilton Free Public Library will host a reading by Siiri Stinson at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the library as part of its summer reading program. Stinson will read “How Droofus the Dragon Lost His Head” by Bill Peet. Castle flags will be made afterward.

An opportunity to create a mosaic with ceramic tile will be offered at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 25.

A session called Lunch and Listen will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 29. Participants are invited to bring their lunch and listen to Doug Dunlap read one of his favorite books, “Blueberries for Sal,” by Robert McCloskey.

A poetry reading and opportunity to create brass-like rubbings will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 30. This program is for ages 10 to 18 with sign-up required. A snack will be provided.

Sandy Warren wil read “Jack’s Garden” by Henry Cole at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 1. Participants will learn about the use of herbs during the medieval period.

The program to be held at 2 p.m. July 2 involves making a tapestry for the library’s castle.

Yard sale to benefit shelter

FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Animal Shelter will hold its annual yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the shelter. They are currently accepting items for the sale, except for clothing.

Talks about God’s power

FARMINGTON – A Wounded Heart Ministry women’s conference will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the Farmington Baptist Church on the Whittier Road, said ministry director Connie Durrell. Five Maine women will share their experiences of God’s transforming power as they journeyed from woundedness to wholeness, a celebration of recovery. As they give their testimonies, each speaker will bring a unique facet of God’s love. Marilyn Hardy of Glenburn, Hollis Smith of Hinckley, Shirley Bragg of Sidney, Carol Ouellette of Lyman and Jill Moreau of Auburn are the featured speakers. Each attendee is being asked to bring a potluck luncheon salad, such as tossed salad, pasta salad, bean salad, fruit salad or coleslaw. Beverages, rolls and cookies will be provided. A love offering will be collected.

Nature programs

RANGELEY – The Wilhelm Reich Museum on Dodge Pond Road in Rangeley announces nature-related workshops and presentations in its Sunday series of the Natural Science Program. The outdoor workshops are free and take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the sheltered classroom and on the museum trails and fields.

July 11: Wildlife biologist Chuck Hulsey will present “Wild Turkeys in Maine.” There will be a demonstration of the “rocket net” device used to capture turkeys for relocation and research.

July 18: Naturalist and Maine master guide Ray Reitze Jr. presents “Wilderness Survival.” Ray and his wife, Nancy, also an experienced guide, naturalist and herbalist, run the Earthways Guided Canoe Trips and School of Wilderness Survival in Canaan.

July 25: Ecologist Lisa St. Hilaire will guide a “Moss Walk.” She will give an overview of mosses, then guide a walk on the museum trails to look at a variety of mosses first-hand and describe their growing habits and ecological niche.

Participants are reminded to dress for weather and bug conditions. Sturdy shoes, bug spray, and bottled water are recommended. Workshops are held rain or shine. The Natural Science Program is funded by the Wing-Benjamin Trust, Friends of the Wilhelm Reich Museum, and individual donors. For information phone 864-3443.
