NORWAY – A benefit dance will be held for 7-year-old Cordell Brooks and his family Friday, June 25, at Charlie’s Entertainment Center on Main Street. The West Paris boy was injured when a boulder fell on him in May. Entertainment will be by DJ “Bump.”

Open mic night

NORWAY – The Norway Coffeehouse Open Mic night will be held Friday, June 25, at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St. Sign-up for performers begins at 6:30 p.m., and the open mic begins around 7. Admission is $3. Performers of all ages are encouraged to bring and share their acoustic musical instruments, original music, and poetry.

Now in its third year, the monthly open mic nights are hosted by Maine performer and recording artist Heather Pierson. Everyone is welcome, especially those who want to just come and listen. For information contact Pierson at 207-935-4505.

Yard sale

NORWAY – Responsible Pet Care will hold a yard sale Saturday, June 26, to raise money for cat and kitten care. It will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the shelter on Route 118. Donations of good items are welcome. Form information phone 743-8679.

OXFORD – A rain or shine lawn sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 26, at 24 Village Lane, off Coldwater Brook Road. The sale will benefit the Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine.

Chinese auction

PARIS – A Chinese auction will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Doors open at 11 a.m. There are hundreds of items. Proceeds will benefit the West Coast Ministry Bikers Youth and Bicycling Teens to California for missionary work on Aug. 7. The purpose of the ministry is to show that anything in life is possible to accomplish with vision and hard work. The teens have raised a good part of the money to pay for various expenses of this trip.

Salad supper

PARIS – A mix and match summer salad supper will be offered from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the Deering Memorial Methodist Church at Church and Main streets. There will be homemade ice cream with strawberries for dessert. Adults $6; children under 12, $3.

Spaghetti supper

BRIDGTON – A spaghetti feast will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 3, at the Bridgton Academy dining hall in North Bridgton. The menu is spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salads featuring local greens, breads, homemade desserts, ice cream, coffee, lemonade, and sun tea. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 3 to 10. Children under 3 eat free.

The dinner is sponsored by the Bridgton Public Library. The Four on the Fourth Road Race will be held Sunday, July 4, to benefit the Children’s Room of the library. Preregistration is available on the Web and at the Cool Moose in Bridgton. For information phone Sally Dunning at 647-2815.
