• June 23, 8 a.m. – A local business reported receiving a check that was drawn on a closed account. The fraud case is being investigated.

• June 18, 4 p.m. – An East Dixfield resident reported that a sign was stolen from a property on Severy Hill. The complainant believed the matter to be a domestic incident, but police could find no corroborating evidence.

• June 18, 4 p.m. – An East Dixfield resident reported gunshots in the vicinity of their Severy Hill residence. No evidence was found.

• June 18, 6:45 a.m. – An East Dixfield resident reported hearing gunshots in the vicinity of her residence.

• June 16, 11:30 a.m. – A Weld Street resident reported that someone had attempted to break into her residence. The person who attempted the burglary also damaged the structure. Chief Richard A. Pickett is continuing the investigation.

• June 15, 12:30 a.m. – An unidentified male driver reported several juveniles acting in a lewd manner as he drove by them on Weld Street. Officer Mark Dow responded to the juveniles’ location “and sent them inside for the night.”

• June 14, just before noon – A Common Road resident went to the police station to report that a juvenile was being harassed by several other juveniles in the Dixfield area. While the case remains open, Pickett has asked the Maine Department of Human Services for assistance because of the ages of the individuals involved.

Arrests

• Shawn M. Russell, 25, of Dixfield, on a probation hold from his probation officer, Michael Downs. Russell was taken to Oxford County jail in Paris.

Summonses

• Jason Berube, 34, of Dixfield, on a charge of operating an unregistered motor vehicle, at 3 p.m. on Wilton Road (Route 2). Berube was summonsed after Officer Mark Dow found him driving an unregistered golf cart.
