I hope there is still room for one more letter applauding excellent high school graduation speeches.
Recently, I attended the Lewiston High School graduation and was truly impressed by one particular student’s well-delivered speech. Joe Lee is a student who will be remembered for praising his peers and teachers while making many people laugh in a seemingly unprepared way. He is well beyond his years.
Adam Barr, the special guest speaker, joked about how he could say anything because he was the guest speaker. Given all the power, Adam told us what we needed to hear. He reminded us that we are all stars of our own movie and that people on TV are no more important than each one of us. There is hardly a better compliment than one that makes us all feel comfortable about who we naturally are.
Two thumbs up!
