AUGUSTA – Joseph Emerson Jr. has joined Century 21 Venture Ltd. as a broker. He will concentrate on commercial properties statewide as well as residential properties in the central Maine area.

Emerson has just satisfied the state requirements for licensure as a broker and has completed nearly 80 hours of training with a focus on real estate appraisal practices.

Emerson, who lives in Winthrop with his wife, Valerie, was manager of Gardiner Paperboard (Yorktowne Paper) in Gardiner for 12 years. He was also active as a board member of the Industrial Energy Consumers Group, the Maine Energy Consumer’s Co-op and the Manufacturers of Maine Workers Comp Self-Insurance Trust. He has one grown son, Jacob, who lives in Colorado.

Counseling service adds staff

LEWISTON – Jean E. Litchfield, owner and director of Central Maine Counseling Services and Key 3 West, is adding staff to provide more comprehensive services in the specialty of substance abuse treatment.

Lise M. Carrier-Pelletier, with 24 years in the field of addiction and co-dependency counseling, is providing outpatient services. She specializes in special populations with substance abuse/addiction issues, the deaf and hearing impaired, victims of violence, teens and women.

As a licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor, with a bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology, Carrier-Pelletier has made the treatment of addictions the priority of her career. She has also been certified as an interventionist, batterer intervention facilitator and clinical supervisor.

Denise Mailhot, with three years in the field of addiction, is providing individual as well as intensive outpatient services with Key 3 West. She specializes in working with French-speaking populations. Her background includes working with the elderly, as well as teens. She has degrees in art/psychology and philosophy.

Central Maine Counseling Services and Key 3 West, two separate programs, are available at the 37 Park St. offices on the fourth floor. A planned relocation of the offices to Main Street in Lewiston is set for Aug. 1.
