ROCKPORT – Mayo Regional Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ralph Gabarro was installed as chairman of the Maine Hospital Association Board of Directors recently in Rockport.
He succeeds James Cassidy, chief executive officer of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Cassidy will continue to serve on the MHA board as immediate past chairman.
The current immediate past chairman, John Welsh, president of Rumford Hospital, will be leaving the board. So will Dorothy Hill, president of The Acadia Hospital, Richard Dennis, trustee at Franklin Memorial Hospital, and Edgar Catlin, trustee at Mid Coast Hospital.
Joining the board is Dennis King, chief executive officer of Spring Harbor Hospital in Westbrook, and Eileen Skinner, president of Mercy Hospital in Portland.
Gabarro has been chief executive officer of Mayo, in Dover-Foxcroft, since 1997. Before that he was chief operating officer of Charter Brookside Behavioral Health System in Nashua, N.H. He has also served in various administrative capacities at the former Mid-Maine Medical Center in Waterville and Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln.
