WILTON – Police arrested a Wilton man on a warrant for a previous assault and ended up confiscating a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
James St. Pierre, 33, was arrested Friday on a Franklin County Sheriff’s Department warrant, Wilton police officer Kevin McCutcheon said.
Wilton officer Blaine Rackliff had gone to the Birch Street residence on the warrant, and while there charged St. Pierre with possession of a Schedule Z drug, marijuana, McCutcheon said.
The amount of marijuana was for personal use, he said
Rackliff gave St. Pierre a warning about the drug paraphernalia, he said.
A package of rolling papers and pipe were confiscated with the marijuana, McCutcheon said.
St. Pierre was taken to Franklin County jail in Farmington on the assault charge.
He posted $250 cash bail the same day and was released. He has a July court date.
