PARIS – A Bethel man pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of unlawful possession of a narcotic cough suppressant in Oxford County Superior Court.
Robert A. Govoni Jr., 26, was sentenced to six months in the county jail, with all but six days suspended.
He was also placed on one year of probation on the condition that he not possess or use unlawful drugs; that he submit to random drug searches and testing; and that he complete evaluation, counseling and treatment for substance abuse.
Govoni was initially charged with four Class C felony counts of acquiring drugs by deception, and two counts of unlawful possession of Hydrocodone, on Jan. 1 and March 2. Hydrocodone, an ingredient in Vicodin, is a narcotic analgesic and cough reliever.
The first four counts were dismissed as part of a plea bargain agreement.
