SOUTH PORTLAND – Twelve Maine seniors will head to college with $500 grants from National Semiconductor Corp.

Recipients of National’s “Technology Achievement Awards” must intend to pursue an education in math, engineering technologies or the sciences, preferably at a Maine college or university.

The following area students were recipients: Alexander Hague,Windham High School; Benjamin Shephard, Gorham High School; Benjamin Christy, Gray/New Gloucester High School; and Shane Koski, Edward Little High School.

The awards are funded by the National Semiconductor Foundation and are awarded in school districts where National Semiconductor employees live. Additional information is available at www.national.com.
