LEWISTON – A downtown man was arrested early Thursday after police searched his home and said they found child pornography on a computer.

James M. Fisk, 51, of 85 Horton St., was charged with dissemination of sexually explicit material. Fish is charged with possessing child pornography with the intent to distribute the photographs.

About 3 a.m., Lewiston police and members of the Central Maine Computer Crimes Task Force went to Fisk’s home with a search warrant. Investigators said it was their discovery of material on Fisk’s computer that led to his arrest.

He was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn, where he was being held Thursday night on $5,000 cash bail.

On Thursday night, police executed more searches in the case, though it was not clear what was found.

“We’re still trying to determine if other people might be involved,” said Lewiston police Sgt. David St. Pierre.

Police said they began investigating Fisk after receiving information that he was in possession of sexually explicit photographs of children. Detectives on Thursday described the investigation as ongoing and said more charges are possible.
