RANGELEY – Fifteen people were charged during a brawl at a Sunset Lane condominium on June 26, Police Chief Phil Weymouth said Tuesday.

Police were called to the condo the night before to investigate a report of a loud party. One man was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence, but Weymouth did not have his name immediately available.

About 11 p.m. on June 26 a brawl broke out outside the same residence with a reported 30 to 40 young people involved, the chief said. Rangeley police officer John Cross found people there throwing rocks, breaking windows and vehicle lights. Weymouth said he responded also along with Maine State Police and U.S. Border Patrol agents.

Fifteen people, who ranged in age from 17 to 23, were issued summonses on charges including disorderly conduct, rioting, unlawful assembly, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief, Weymouth said. He did not have their identities immediately available Tuesday.

Two vehicles were damaged, several condominium windows were broken and window screens were slashed, according the police report. No estimate of the damage was available Tuesday.
