FARMINGTON – Children who need treatment for endocrine problems such as diabetes, thyroid conditions or stature conditions will soon be able to access this specialty health care at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Anne Boniface will begin seeing pediatric patients, from infants through 18-year-olds, for consultations and follow-up visits quarterly, said Taffy Davis, the hospital’s outpatient and oncology manager.

The new pediatric endocrinology outpatient clinic starts July 28. It will be offered on the fourth Wednesday of July, October, January and April from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the hospital’s second floor.

Boniface is a pediatric endocrinologist at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor who specializes in treating children with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, thyroid disorders, short stature and growth disorders, and other pediatric glandular diseases.

Davis said the hospital is pleased to have the new clinic. “Previously our patients had to travel to larger healthcare institutions to receive this service.”

Appointments may be made by calling the outpatient care department at 779-2539 or 1-800-398-6031.
