JAY – Police are investigating damage to a swing set at the Church Street Playground, which was reported Monday.

Jay police Cpl. Jeff Fournier said a metal pipe on the top part of the swing set had been pulled up and off, and the set’s base and cement were pulled out of the ground.

Police also responded to a verbal altercation Saturday on Fuller Road, Fournier said.

The person who allegedly started the incident was intoxicated, the officer said.

Frederick Jewell, 40, of Dryden was arrested by Sgt. Charles Keene for violating probation, Fournier said.

Fournier also said that an ambulance was called for a female juvenile who had self-inflicted injuries.
