FARMINGTON – Vincent Lakin, 83, of Anson, died Tuesday afternoon, July 13, at the Sandy River Center for Health Care where he had resided for the last three years.

He was born in Wilton, Aug. 16, 1920, a son of George and Esther (Knowles) Lakin and received his education in Wilton schools.

Mr. Lakin was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He worked in the Farmington and Wilton cemeteries for many years and at Metcalf’s Woodmill in Anson. In 1975, he married Jenny Fish. She died in April of 2000. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and singing hymns.

He is survived by two sisters, Blanche Ranger, of Norway and Frances Vining, of Wilton; one granddaughter, Deborah Pinkham and her husband, Jason, of Levant; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Seth Pinkham of Levant.
