FRYEBURG – The International Musical Arts Institute concert series on Friday, July 16, will be “Treasures from Russia – Music and Art,”
It will feature a presentation by Sam and Betsey Harding of Jackson, N.H., who are directors of Friends of Russian Orphans. The program will include an exhibition of artwork by the orphanage children of Yaroslavl, Russia.
There will also be performances of Arensky’s Quartet, The Vocal/Instrumental Suite by Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky’s String Sextet, “Souvenir de Florence.”
The concert on Saturday, July 17, will include Mozart’s Viola Quintet in D Major, Faure’s Quartet for Piano and String in C minor and Dvorak’s Trio in F minor performed by the institute’s resident musicians. These will include violinist Adrian Levine of London, England; cellist Brian Manker of Montreal; violinist Ben Sayevich of Lawrence, Kan.; and pianist Heng Jin Park of Boston.

Suggested donation for Friday’s concert is $15, with proceeds being equally shared by the institute and Friends of Russian Orphans.
Admission for Saturday’s concert is $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors and students. “Sunday Concerts for Seniors” take place at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church through July 25; those Sunday concerts are free for seniors and those with mobility limitations and $5 for all others.
