BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -Outdoor equipment maker Lowe Alpine will move the last of its Colorado operations to the home of parent company Asolo in Lebanon, N.H., this month.

Lowe Alpine moved its customer service, warehouse and accounting operations to New Hampshire last summer, leaving only the sales and marketing departments in Colorado.

Lowe Alpine was founded in Lafayette, Colo., in 1967. Asolo, an Italian outdoor equipment maker, acquired the company in 2002.

Only two Lowe Alpine employees remain in Colorado: President Geoff O’Keeffe and marketing Vice President Garith Richards.

Both are both leaving the company.

SOUTH PORTLAND (AP) – Fairchild Semiconductor International on Thursday posted a $17 million profit in the second quarter amid a 28 percent increase in sales of higher-margin power management chips.

The company said net income for the three months ended June 27 was 14 cents per share.

Fairchild lost $63.8 million, or 54 cents per share, in the same period last year.

Sales totaled $414.3 million, an increase of 19 percent.

Excluding special charges and various one-time expenses, Fairchild said it earned $31.7 million, or 26 cents per share.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call estimated Fairchild’s second-quarter earnings at 23 cents per share on revenue of $418.8 million.

“We continue to grow our power business and significantly improve our gross margins,” said Kirk Pond, president, chief executive officer and chairman.

Fairchild said it expects third-quarter revenue to be flat compared with the second quarter in line with seasonal patterns.
