LEWISTON – Stephen L. Doughty, 42, died unexpectedly Friday, July 16.

He was born in Portland on Dec. 5, 1961, a son of Ralph L., Sr. and Jean (Gauthier) Doughty. He attended Yarmouth Schools and graduated from Yarmouth High School. An avid NASCAR fan, he even had his own license. Because he had such a rare blood type, throughout his life he was a frequent blood donor.

Surviving are his father, Ralph L. Doughty Sr. and his wife, Katy Doughty; the love of his life, Judy Reed; a sister-in-law, Susan Doughty; a nephew, Tyler Doughty and several aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his mother, Jean in 1996 and a brother, Ralph L. “Ricky” Doughty, Jr. in 1999.
