BETHEL – The Oxford County Democrats provided a presence at the Mollyockett Day parade, with two floats and more than 30 participants of varied ages marching and riding.
Sen. Bruce Bryant and Rep. John Patrick led the contingent, accompanied by Tim Trafford of the Michaud for Congress campaign, Tim Carter of Bethel, candidate for the House of Representatives, and Cathy Newell, Oxford County Democratic chairwoman.
Throughout the day the Democrats welcomed people to their booth on the Common, which was stocked with materials from the John Kerry campaign, Mike Michaud’s campaign and the local races.
Booth volunteers included Cathy and Charlie Newell, Tim and Jodi Carter and Mike and Eileen Broderick. Henry and Pat Stewart provided logistical support in setting up the booth.
Upcoming events include the county Democrats meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, for a potluck supper at the Mexico Town Hall, a caucus for District 100 at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 23, at the Otisfield Town Hall and several Kerry/Edwards house parties on Thursday, July 29.
