MINOT – The school committee approved Superintendent Nina Schlikin’s nomination of Margaret D. Pitts of Scarborough as the new principal for the Minot Consolidated School during a special meeting Tuesday night.

School committee members who served on the selection committee noted that they reviewed applications from 16 people and interviewed five before settling on Pitts as their choice.

School committee Chairwoman Colleen Quint said she was impressed with Pitts’ positive energy and said she takes “good care of her students and her staff.”
