SUMNER -The Board of Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, July 26 and Aug. 9.

The annual town meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School, preceded by a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. Town reports will be mailed the first week in August. More information may be obtained by calling 388-2866.

Volunteers sought for Make-A-Wish

CAMDEN – The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization working to make wishes come true for Maine children with life-threatening medical conditions, is searching for wish-granting volunteers.

Wish-granting volunteers work in teams and act as the primary contact between the children with wishes and the Make-A-Wish office for the duration of the wish process.

Each wish takes an average of 10 to 20 hours over four months to fulfill. Training, support and magic wands are provided. There is no financial obligation to be a wish volunteer. All expenses for each wish are paid for by Make-A-Wish. More information may be obtained by calling 1-800-491-3171.
