I’m very tired of hearing some Republicans say that anyone against the war is against the soldiers. I, for one, am against the war, but I love the soldiers and am very much in support of them. I wish they were home.

I’m also very angry that Vice President Cheney, who was deferred five times, makes remarks about Sen. John Kerry’s record in the service of his country. Kerry served in Vietnam. He was awarded several medals for his distinguished service, and some try to make everyone believe he doesn’t deserve them. Doesn’t this make you wonder how our soldiers will be used if this administration is still in the White House?

Another issue that needs to be faced is that President Bush is all the time telling us we are safer today than we were before the war. How can we be when all the Reserves who are supposed to guard our homeland are in Iraq? It’s a puzzle to me who is going to guard the country.

Also, it seems to me that if we turn the oil fields back to the people of Iraq instead of giving it back to our big oil companies this would show them we were trying to help them. Also, we should turn the rebuilding of Iraq back to Iraqis and give them a decent wage instead of paying a tremendous price to the American contractors.

If you want “peace on Earth,” vote Kerry and Edwards.
