New 350-pupil elementary school to be built
DIXFIELD – Architects from three firms are to be interviewed Monday by members of the merged SAD 21 Consolidated School Board.
Each of the interviews is scheduled to last an hour. The sessions will start at the 6 p.m., Monday, July 26, at Dirigo High School.
Stephen Blatt Architects will be interviewed at 6 p.m., SMRT Architects at 7 p.m., and PDT Architects at 8 p.m. All architectural firms are from Portland.
Composed of directors representing the consolidated SAD 21 towns of Canton, Carthage, Dixfield and Peru, the board is tasked with working on all aspects of construction of a new elementary school.
In addition to designing the new school based on input from the board and community, the architect is to help with site selection and a reconfiguration of the school.
After the interviews, directors are to select an architect for a second interview and negotiations on a fee.
