BETHEL – The Bethel Historical Society will host the 26-member Yankee Brass Band at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 31, on the grounds of the Dr. Moses Mason House, weather permitting, or at the Congregational Church.
Those wishing to make it a day of historical experience may wish to attend the Rumford and Mexico historical societies’ Country Fair, featuring a Civil War encampment, drill and parade at Rumford Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a traditional supper at the West Bethel Union Church at 5:30 p.m., followed by the hour-and-a-half concert.
The society’s newest exhibit, “Molly Ockett and Her World,” opened on Molly Ockett Day at the society’s O’Neil Robinson House. It will be open each day until Labor Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday.
The 25th annual Sudbury Canada Days, summer heritage festival of the Bethel Historical Society will be held on Friday through Sunday, Aug. 13 to 15, with a wide variety of activities celebrating the New England past. For more information, call the society at 824-2908.
