LEWISTON – The Central Maine School of Massage Therapy celebrated the graduation of a class of 10 students on June 25 at the Elks Lodge.
Kate Rock, RN LMT, an instructor of the school and owner of the Synergy Wellness Center in Topsham, delivered a speech and personal note to each student before handing out the diplomas.
Rock has been a massage therapist for 13 years. She attended the Seattle Massage School in Seattle. She specializes in therapeutic massage, deep tissue modalities, reiki and business consulting.
The graduating students will go on to apply for licensure in massage therapy by the state without further testing and will also qualify to sit for the national certification exam given by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Graduates are Sharon Kennedy of Canton, Paul Douphinett of Auburn, Tammy Symes of Farmingdale, Pamela Price-Wharff of Lewiston, Jack Desjardins of Lewiston, Julia Kirtland of Brunswick, Nancy Reynolds of Lewiston, Rhonda Fongemie of Lewiston, Abel Pangan of Lewiston and Kirk Karkos of Lisbon.
The Central Maine school is accepting applications for fall enrollment. Those interested can call 753-1414 to request a catalog.
