LEWISTON – Louis E. Gosselin, 87, of 76 Fairlawn Ave., Lewiston, died on Sunday evening, July 25, at d’Youville Pavilion, following complications with diabetes and heart failure.

Born in Auburn, May 11, 1917, the son of the late Felicien and Roseanna (Garneau) Gosselin, he was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1935. He then attended Assumption College in Worcester, Mass.

On May 29, 1941, he married Annette F. Ste. Marie at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. He retired from Hall and Knight Hardware in 1979. He was an avid bowler until his eyesight diminished. He enjoyed playing cards up to two weeks ago. After retirement he and his wife wintered in Florida, until 1994.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annette; three sons Paul, Gerard and his wife, Clare, and Ronald; two granddaughters, Christina and Dawn; two great-grandsons; and several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

He was predeceased by an infant son in 1942; three brothers, Raoul, Romeo and Arthur Gosselin; six sisters, Yvonne Chamberland, Sister Agnes (Bernadette), Sister Anita Gosselin, Alice Ouellette, Jeanne Gosselin and Yvette Perron; and many nieces and nephews.
