AUBURN – Matt Reading, a candidate for Auburn’s House District 68, has launched his campaign for state representative. The newly redrawn district covers the majority of the city’s northern half.

Reading says he is eager to serve his community and to promote their interests in Augusta.

“Voters can expect nothing less from me than a knock on each and every door in this district,” Reading said. “It is my first priority to talk with as many people as possible to get a true sense of their concerns and interests.”

Recognizing problems with property taxes and the business climate, and with the “brain drain,” Reading is proposing solutions to strengthen the economy for Maine’s future.

Reading, 22, was raised in Auburn and attended Edward Little High School.

He recently earned his degree from the University of Chicago.

Reading already has experience with the legislative process, having worked in a State House office last year.

He is running as a nominee of the Maine Green Independent Party.
