MEXICO – Region 9 board members Wednesday night accepted application materials from the Maine School Management Association for hiring of a new director.
The board has not made a decision on hiring a part-time interim director. Board Chairman Norman Clanton said the association is expected to help the board with that decision.
The association was hired for $600 to help with advertising and screening for a permanent director. Advertisements will appear in several state newspapers over the weekend. The deadline for applying is Aug. 24. Interviews of qualified candidates would be scheduled soon after the that.
Former Director Deborah Guimont, whose resignation was effective on July 16, has agreed to work one day a week until Sept. 1 to help with the transition. She left the position she had held for five years to take a similar position in Sanford.
Clanton said the board also welcomed newly appointed member Bob Everett of Bethel, as the newest representative from SAD 44. Ralph Sayer resigned, leaving SAD 21 without representation on the cooperative board. Sayer was also a member of the board’s personnel committee. SAD 43 board member Jeff Sterling was appointed to replace Sayer.
