MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Justin Singleton hit a two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the New Hampshire Fisher Cats a 3-1 win over the Portland Sea Dogs Friday night.
Singleton’s homer broke a 1-1 tie for New Hampshire (60-45), which entered the game tied for first place in the Northern Division.
Singleton had struck out in his three previous at-bats. The Fisher Cats trailed 1-0 until the eighth inning, when Tyrell Godwin hit a solo homer that extended his hitting streak to nine games.
Portland (49-56) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Brett Roneberg scored from third on a Chris Baker wild pitch. John Ogiltree (2-4) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the win. Colin Young (1-1), who allowed both New Hampshire homers, was the losing pitcher.
