MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – John Hattig hit a pair of home runs and drove in four runs to give the New Hampshire Fisher Cats an 8-1 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs on Saturday.
New Hampshire (61-45) also got solo blasts from Justin Singleton and Maikel Jova.
New Hampshire took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Aaron Hill’s sacrifice fly and Hattig’s solo homer. An RBI single from Hattig brought the score to 3-0 in the third inning. Singleton’s bases-empty homer in the fourth inning and a fifth inning featuring a two-run homer by Hattig and a solo shot by Jova pushed the lead to 7-0.
Hill’s run-scoring double in the eighth inning brought the score to 8-0. Portland finally scored in the ninth inning when Stefan Bailie came home on Joe Kilburg’s groundout.
