RUMFORD – The Rumford branch of Friends of the Library continues to expand its membership and generate future events.
At a recent meeting the secretary read correspondence from Rep. Mike Michaud and Sen. Susan Collins, both offering congratulations on the centennial celebration and commending Rumford area residents for maintaining the library’s high standards for people of all ages.
The group’s first newsletter, highlighting the Friends’ first year, also noted progress of the Growth Committee and explained the new wireless Internet capability and the new automation system, MINERVA.
A few copies of the newsletter are still available at the front desk, courtesy of Friends member Jane Shuck.
The next major event will be a tag sale/book sale on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the library.
The group welcomes donations from the community.
More information will be forthcoming.
