LEWISTON – Members of several area bands will team up at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, to present a show benefiting the 133rd Engineering Unit in Iraq. All proceeds will go to help send care packages to unit members. Admission to the performance at the National Guard Armory on Goddard Road is $5.
Participating bands include Animal Suit Driveby, Short of April, Haven’t Talked Since, Missing Direction, Pozer, To Sleep Under Fire, Kevin Salonen and Co. and Eliptical and Cold at Heart.
Breastfeeding discussion
AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to a La Leche League meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at 102 Bennett Ave.
Babies are welcome. The meeting will include a discussion on “Breastfeeding, the Mother-Baby Relationship and the Weaning Process.”

Sale at Poland Spring Academy
POLAND – A giant lawn and food sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21 and 22, to benefit Poland Spring Academy.
Donations are welcome. Proceeds will help the school defer the cost of moving to a new location.

Duplicate bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug. 3 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Flight A winners were: first, Mike Quinn and Anna Vitiello; second, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; third, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; fourth, Fred Letourneau and Rosemarie Goodwin; fifth, Les Buzzell and Pat Quinn; sixth, Maude Abbott and Marta Clements.
Flight B winners were: first, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; second, Maude Abbott and Marta Clements; third, Jim Flanagan and Bailey Geeslin. Flight C winners were Doug and Betty Sise. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.
The club also met on Aug. 4 at Schooner Estates. Winners in Flight A were: first, David Wallace and Tom Dahlberg; second, Leslie Buzzell and Michael Quinn; third, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Martine Begert and Patricia Quinn.
