• July 31 – A Pine Street resident reported that his home had recently been burglarized.

• July 29, 10 a.m. – An unidentified person reported that a hitchhiker made an obscene gesture in his direction when he failed to stop and give the man a ride. The young man was located and warned against such behavior.

• July 29, 7:30 a.m. – The owner of an East Dixfield business reported theft of services.

• July 28, 12:30 p.m. – The owner of a Main Street business reported that the business had received bad checks.

• July 28, 8:30 p.m. – A Coburn Avenue resident reported that dirt bikes were being operated on the street outside his home. He said the noise created by the bikes was disturbing. The cycles were gone when police arrived.

• July 28 – A Severy Hill Road resident in East Dixfield reported litter in the road from what was apparently a wreck. A towed trailer apparently struck a utility pole. The owner of the vehicle has not yet been located.

• Linda A. McCoubrey, 45, of Mexico, on a charge of operating under the influence, at 8:15 p.m. on July 31. She was involved in a single-vehicle crash when she crashed into a utility pole on Wilton Road. She is to be arraigned Sept. 7 in Rumford District Court:
