NORWAY – Virginia H. Hall, 89, of Norway died Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Oxford on March 25, 1915, the daughter of Otho B. and Pearle Locke Holden. She was a graduate of Oxford High School in 1932 and Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in Boston. She married G. Freeman Hall on January 25, 1936.

Mrs. Hall was a homemaker, mother, and resident of Norway for the majority of her life. She was very active in community affairs. Mrs. Hall was Past President of the Norway Women’s Club, the Browning Reading Club, Oxford County Literary Union, and the Second Congregational Women’s Fellowship. She served as a trustee of the Norway Memorial Library and director of the Stephens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was also an active volunteer in the auxiliary thrift shop since 1980. Mrs. Hall had been a deacon and actively involved in the women’s circle of the Second Congregational Church in Norway.

She is survived by her husband G. Freeman Hall of Norway; a daughter Carol Ann and husband Brad Raymond, of Norway; three grandchildren, Audrey Raymond and partner Anthony Criscitelli, of Norway, Jeff and wife Lorri Raymond, of Harrison, and Stacey Raymond and fiance Gerry Dresser, of Harrison; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Raymond, of Gorham, Coralee Foster, of Norway, Devon Richards, of Harrison, and her fianc Kelly Bruneau, of South Paris, and Danielle Richards, of Harrison.

She was predeceased by a brother Norman N. Holden, in 1999, and a sister Loraine Stone.
