LEWISTON – Marjorie E. (Gauthier) MacDonald, 82, died April 18, while residing at Montello Manor.

Born Sept. 16, 1921, the daughter of Hilda L. Burton E. Dunham of Auburn, she graduated from Edward Little High School in 1940.

She married George J. Gauthier II in October 1944, and he passed away in 1968. They had two children, Patricia A. Hobbs, of Lakewood, N.J., who predeceased her and a surviving daughter, Gail L. White, of Glendale, Ariz. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She married Edward H. MacDonald of Auburn on Nov. 10, 1970. She has two stepdaughters; two stepsons; stepgrandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was a former resident of Clinton. She worked for Freddie’s Variety and Dick’s Market. She was also employed for Dillingham’s Egg Farm and Hathaway Shirt Co. She was a member of the Rebeccas, Eastern Star and was president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Willett McKinney American Legion Post.

She loved animals, music and dancing and also enjoyed many hobbies and crafts before her illness. Her favorite place in the entire world was the cottage at Tacoma Lake in Litchfield.
