LEWISTON – Eric Strout, who tripled, scored the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly by Joe Bailey as Brunswick Steel edged Fast Breaks 4-3 Tuesday in an opening game of a best-of-3 playoff series in the Lewiston Rec Men’s Softball League. Tony Strout and Eric Strout both cracked 2 hits.

L-A Men’s League

LEWISTON -Gipper’s (3) upset Ducharme Masonry (2) 15-12 Tuesday night in an opening game (best-of-3) in the Lewiston Division of the L-A Men’s Softball League.

Gipper’s trailed 9-2 in the sixth but sent 15 batters to the plate in erupting for 12 runs. The key hits were a grand-slam homer by Kyle Winter and a 3-run blast by Jesse Robitaille. Bob Haskell also added a pair of homers. John Thibault chipped in with a perfect 3-3 night.
