LEWISTON – After a four year hiatus, the original owners of Jami K’s Variety at 125 Scribner Blvd. are back in business. The store was named in 1995 after the owners’ oldest grandchild, Jami Kayla.

George and Connie Gilbert, along with their daughter, Julie Ferrence, and their now-15-year-old granddaughter, Jami K., opened the new store with a much larger menu and daily specials.

Jami K’s has a wide variety of food items including sandwiches, subs, pizzas and fried foods and also carries an assortment of small grocery items.

George maintains the inventory, while Connie and Julie tend to customers. Jami K is learning food preparation and customer service. Julie’s two other children, Ashley, 10, and Ben, 5, also help in the family business.

Jami K’s is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It also delivers to local businesses. People may phone or fax orders to 784-5156. Menus are available at the store or by fax.
