LEWISTON – Armande J. Deshaies, 94, formerly of 115 Vale St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Family Connection, 63 Fair St., Lewiston, where she had resided since July of 1999.

Born in Lewiston on Aug. 18, 1910, she was the youngest daughter of Emile and Justine Dionne Dumont. She attended local schools, as well as Mt. Merici Academy, Waterville, and was a 1928 graduate of Jordan High School.

Prior to her marriage to Julien W. Deshaies, she was employed at Central Distributors, Inc. Later in life, she was a bookkeeper at King’s Department Store. She lived in Lewiston most of her life, except for a five year period when her husband was City Manager of Augusta.

Prior to moving to Augusta, she attended Holy Family Parish. Later, she became a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish, where she belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne. She was also a member of the Cercle d’Youville. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and many crafts.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald and wife, Denise, of Harpswell, Andre and wife, Patricia, also of Harpswell, and Paul and wife, Helen, of Scarborough; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; she also leaves several loving nieces and nephews; as well as Ronald and Lorraine Coulombe and her “family” at the Family Connection.
