GREENE – Cindy Morin of Androscoggin Grange 8 took first place in the New England Grange Lecturers’ Regional Talent Competition.

Singing a Leanne Rimes song, “Big Deal,” Morin represented Maine in a contest with competitors from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The annual contest begins with grange members only competing at state level. Morin took first in that in May in Augusta. She then traveled to Poultney, Vt., with Grange Master Carol Buzzell to compete in the regional competition. She will head for the national competition in Rochester, N.Y., on Nov. 12.

Morin owns and operates Little Dreamers Daycare at her home in Greene where she resides with her husband, Arthur, and 4-year-old son, Travis. She can be seen on stage Oct. 23 at the annual Androscoggin Grange variety show. For more information, call 946-3434.
