The residents of Auburn, Poland, New Gloucester and Durham have a fine choice for their next state senator in Rep. Lois Snowe-Mello.

Elected to four terms in the Maine House by the people of Poland, Minot and New Gloucester, Snowe-Mello is a highly effective and respected legislator in Augusta. She’s down to earth, feisty and as hardworking as they come.

Snowe-Mello supports an amendment to Maine’s constitution to cap state spending to inflation and population growth, as well as one to require a two-thirds majority vote in both houses of the Legislature in order to raise taxes. She knows that the remedy to our economic woes is not more state spending, but fiscal restraint in the capital.

The people of Auburn, Poland, New Gloucester and Durham would be well served by a Sen. Snowe-Mello.
