PHILLIPS – The 109th Wing family reunion will be held on Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Wing Pavilion. A 10 a.m. meeting will be followed by a lunch, auction, entertainment and games. Those attending are asked to bring a dish for the lunch and an item for the auction. For more information, call 249-5137.
Additon gathering
LEEDS – The Additon family held its 74th reunion on Aug. 8 at Sebago Lake State Park. Those attending are descendants of Thomas and Anna (Beals) Additon, who married in Leeds in 1821.
The oldest person present was Harold Meade, 91, of Bridgton. The youngest were Chelsea and Caleb Freda, twin daughter and son of Corey and Jill Additon Freda of Leeds, born Jan. 14, 2003; and Nathan Mao, son of Jeff and Deanna Hodgkin Mao of Wells, born Jan. 10, 2003.
Marcia Troyer of Boulder, Colo., came the farthest. Other states represented were Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.
Family members reported three births and two marriages. A resolution was adopted in memory of Kenneth Additon of Turner.
Clyde Hodgkin of Yarmouth presided at the business meeting with 62 in attendance. Officers elected for 2005 are Brian Hodgkin of Gorham, president; Lorri Pelletier of Greene, vice president; Douglas Hodgkin of Lewiston, secretary; and Donald Smith of Wellesley, Mass., treasurer. Members of the Finance Committee are Elise Hodgkin of Yarmouth, Ellis Additon of Vassalboro and Errol Additon of Leeds.
After the potluck dinner and the business meeting, Errol Additon conducted an auction. Winner of the raffle for the homemade quilt was Elise Hodgkin of Yarmouth. Winner of the 50-50 drawing was Joseph Bugel of Auburn.
Worthley meeting
WELD – The annual reunion of the Worthley Family, Phillips Branch, was held at Mount Blue State Park Webb Beach on Aug. 8. Thirty family members attended.
After a potluck dinner, the business meeting was called to order by Geneva Worthley, president. The meeting was opened with a prayer and the singing of “God Bless America.” Reports were read and approved.
New business included election of officers for the year: Cindy Worthley, president; Eric Worthley, vice president; and Carol Rollins and Carl Beu, secretary/treasurer.
The oldest and youngest present were represented by Grace Worthley Clark and her great-granddaughter, Sierra Kempton. Family member from the greatest distance was Eric Worthley of Windham.
After the business meeting a Scottish auction was held. Next year’s reunion will be held Aug. 14 at Mount Blue State Park Webb Beach.
