PORTLAND (AP) – Reliever Lenny DiNardo allowed three runs over two innings but was credited with the win as the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Trenton Thunder 4-3 Sunday in the opener of a doubleheader.

The Sea Dogs took a 1-0 lead when Mike Lockwood doubled home a run in the third inning and added three in the fourth on a wild pitch and RBI singles by Clint Chauncey and Raul Nieves.

Starter Pedro Astacio pitched four scoreless innings for the Sea Dogs. DiNardo (1-0), on a rehab assignment from the Boston Red Sox, pitched the next two innings, giving up a three-run homer to Mitch Jones in the sixth.

Marc Deshaines got his seventh save in the final inning, walking two batters and striking out the side.

Loser Francisco Villegas (1-3) went four innings, giving up all four runs on eight hits.

The Sea Dogs also won the second game of the day 3-2 when Sheldon Fulse hit a two run double off the left field wall, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
