I am concerned regarding statements included in the Sun Journal article “Turner sues resident” of Aug. 14.

Roger Williams was quoted as saying William Whitman had failed to “go along with” requests made of him. This is not true.

1. He was asked to move yard sale tables off the lawn. He did.

2. He was then asked to fence his cars which he kept for parts. He did.

3. He was asked to remove unregistered vehicles from the lawn. He did.

4. Next he was asked to fix the fence because a town board member could see through the slit when racing by at full speed. He did.

5. Then he was asked to get rid of all his old cars, having been refused a license to “deal” because of zoning. He never had the idea of “dealing” in them anyway. They were for parts in his agricultural efforts. He had several removed.

6. He fully believes the town has singled him out as a scapegoat, as nothing seems to be happening to or by the others in the same situation.

It becomes obvious to me that the town does not favor development of small businesses, especially agricultural or they would not be driving them out.
