OXFORD – Yum. Maple cotton candy.

And maple syrup, of course.

What else would you expect at a sugarhouse?

Roger Jackson, owner of Jackson’s Sugarhouse of East Oxford, is building a new sugarhouse at the Oxford County Fairgrounds, across from the fair food booth. He hopes to have everything ready for fair time, Sept. 15-18.

The sugarhouse will be equipped with an oil-fired backyard evaporator manufactured by Waterloo/Small USA. The owner of the evaporator, Garth Atherton, will be on hand to demonstrate its use.

Atherton will also have other equipment on display, as will Wayne and Joannie Slattery of Minot, owners of the West Minot Sugarhouse.

Roger and Rose Jackson will be selling all kinds of maple syrup products.
