LANCASTER – Dennis R. Cornish, Sr., 56, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Weeks Medical Center.

Born in Rumford, Maine, June 26, 1948, he was the son of Raymond E. and Ruth (Austin) Cornish.

He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp., having served in Vietnam.

He was employed by the Fraser Paper Co., a member of VFW Post 10675, in Whitefield, and President of the Millsfield Club.

He was an avid stock car and NASCAR fan and raced in Groveton for 11 years.

Beside his parents, he is survived by his wife; Faye (Tardif) Cornish; two sons, Dennis Cornish, Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Milan, and Eric Cornish, of Gorham; two sisters, Linda Moriarty and her companion, Kevin Kohlstrom, of Hubbardston, Mass., and Donna Cornish, of Rumford; three grandchildren, Riely, Noah and Austin Cornish; and several nieces and nephews.
