GRAFTON TOWNSHIP – An Upton woman died after being thrown from the motorcycle she was driving on Route 26 in Grafton Notch late Saturday afternoon.
Police said Cynthia Scribner, 42, was heading northbound on the narrow, winding scenic highway when she lost control of her motorcycle. She suffered head trauma when she landed against a rock.
She was taken to Maine Medical Center by ambulance and later died, according to Trooper James Nolan, who investigated the one-vehicle crash.
Nolan’s preliminary investigation cited speed as a likely contributing factor to the 4:55 p.m. crash.
