LIVERMORE – The Brettuns Pond Association will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Today at the Community Building. A potluck supper will be served, and those attending are to bring place settings in addition to a main dish, salad or dessert.

Society program

STRATTON – The Dead River Area Historical Society will hold a program from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 4 and 5. The public is invited to attend An Afternoon with Charlie Bruce from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. He has recently released three CDs, which will be available for purchase and he will also be signing them for customers. An ice cream social will also be held. Displays include collections of carpentry and logging tools, china, glass, church organ, furniture, a complete schoolroom, and a memorial to the “lost” towns of Flagstaff and Dead River.

After 5 Club

JAY – The Western Mountain Women’s Connections and After 5 Club will meet Tuesday, Sept. 7, at LaFleur’s Restaurant. A luncheon will be held from 11:30 to 1 p.m. and a dinner from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The program is a Stained Glass Medley, the B eauty of Stained Glass with Cindy Curtis. Diane Muise will provide music.
