In regards to the letter carriers discrimination claim reported in the Sun Journal (Aug. 19), I have a comment or two.

I do not believe that the U.S. Constitution has been modified to state that a person has the right to not be offended.

In fact, I seem to remember a little movement known as tolerance, whereby we accept all points of view whether we agree with them or not.

I would also like to offer these men the same advise that is offered to Christians when they are confronted by things or material in society that they find offensive. Do not read it.

As far as their dues funding the article, many union members claim that they are not Democrats, yet they have little say in the fact that their unions contribute almost exclusively to the Democratic Party.

Also, my tax dollars go to fund many programs Christians define as immoral, yet we cannot alter the funding of such programs.

I also ask myself this question. Instead of removing a column that over 99 percent of the union seems to have no problem with, why not add a column expressing their own views? I would ask this question, but the answer is far too obvious.
